After the E-bodies, it was time to try B-bodies (GTX’s, Road Runners, Coronets, Superbees and Chargers). For those not fluent in speaking Mopar…A-bodies were the compact cars offered by Chrysler such as the Dart or Duster. E-bodies were the Challenger and Cuda pony cars. B-bodies were Chrysler’s midsized sedans…they were high utility vehicles and used as taxis, police cars, family sedans, family wagons as well as the midsized muscle they are remembered for. Road Runners, and their Dodge equivalent the Superbee, came standard with a 383 4 barrel.

This Road Runner was restored by Zautorestorers in Ontario, Canada. Really nice job on the body with careful attention to the right spot welds, etc. The color was a special option for late 1969 called Rallye Green (code 999). I bought it out of restoration from the shop owner Frank. I added the original N96 air grabber assembly which is always a cool addition, which supposedly added 5 hp.

A fun car, drove well, you could take this car anywhere with no problems. The “two car” rule resulted in this being eventually used in trade for the A12 Superbee “Little Thirsty”. I have had the pleasure of knowing a couple of the subsequent owners, they also really enjoyed this car and the restoration has held up really well.
