And now for something completely different!!

A 2013 Dodge Viper GTS. 6th GTS built as part of the 5th Generation Vipers produced between 2013 to 2017. 5th Gen Vipers were built with a few more comforts than previous members of the Viper family including 6-way seats, traction and anti-skid control, Chrysler’s U-Connect infotainment center including a back up camera (which is very helpful for a car with such limited rear visibility). Chrysler, in collaboration with Lamborghini, created the V10, all aluminum, 8.4 liter (513 ci) engine producing 640 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. The engine is notable for the amount of horsepower Chrysler engineers were eventually able to squeeze out of it over time, originating at 400 hp in Gen 1 Vipers. Power is transmitted via a Tremec 6 speed manual transmission to a 3.55 to 1 rear end. All this in a body with a drag coefficient of 0.364. Vipers are light, a 2013 Gen 5 weighing in around 3400 lbs. In comparison the 2023 Dodge Demon 170 swung the scales at 4,280 lbs and the 2024 Corvette at 3500 lbs.

Not a lot of Vipers were built…3,913 Gen V’s total, including the 1,000 built in 2013. Estimates are 32,000 Vipers were built across the 5 Generations of the car starting in 1991 and concluding in 2017. I am the second owner of the car, it has 6818 miles, I will have to do my best to add to that!

Color: Adrenaline Red.
